School of Accounting
The School of Accounting is now set with four majors of Big Data and Accounting, Financial Services and Management, Big Data and Financial Management, and Intellectual Property Management. The Big Data and Accounting is a key major of DVI, while the accounting teaching team is the outstanding teaching team of Shandong Province. The school has fifty-five faculty members, including one professor, thirteen associate professors and thirty-five lecturers. Among them, there are one doctor, fifty masters, two senior accountants, four certified public accountants, seven certified tax advisors and four lawyers. Ninety percent of the teachers have obtained intermediate professional and technical qualifications such as accountants and economists, and all of them have “dual-qualifications”.
With advanced experimental and practical training conditions, the school is now set with 10 training rooms that are equipped with 34 sets of practical training software worth RMB 4.1 million. Under the guidance of teachers, students proactively participated in various vocational skills competitions and have won thirteen first prizes in various national and provincial skills competition in recent years.
Adhering to the philosophy of inclusive enrollment, the school further deepens the industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation, and has established the Dongying Intellectual Property Institute, Dongying Accounting Vocational Education Alliance (preparatory) and 107 off-campus training bases. In the meantime, the school has established long-term cooperation with over 80 enterprises including Seentao, Dongying Agency Bookkeeping Association, Dongying Petrochemical Group, Jinzheng Certified Public Accountants Firm and Wanda Group. Being always welcomed by employers, the school’s graduates are often backbones of various industries and elites in enterprises. The employment rate of the school has always ranked in forefront among the colleges and schools of the same type.
The school has always been devoted to facilitating the teaching reform led by scientific research, with remarkable achievements made. In recent years, teachers have published over 160 papers on core journals, written about 70 textbooks (lecture notes) as chief editor or participating editor, and successively undertaken one national teacher training program, three provincial teacher training programs, one national teaching resource library construction sub-program, two provincial excellent courses, one provincial excellent resource sharing course, and five school-level excellent courses. Moreover, teachers have completed over sixty programs at or above the municipal level, and won 20 scientific research prizes at or above the provincial level.
Attaching great importance to strict and orderly student management, the school also values the students’ ideological and political education, as well as cultivation of their innovative ability, ranking forefront in assessment for consecutive years. The school has formed complete subsidiary and rewarding policies, awarding various scholarships and subsidies to 60% of the students annually. Moreover, there are 24 student organizations including “Firefly Counselor Studio”, Financial Skill Star and ERP Sand Table Simulation with distinctive characteristics, which facilitate the healthy development and comprehensive improvement of students’ overall quality by organizing a variety of activities.
